ELOP Crew

VS Code

Approvals and questions

When Claude Code asks permission to use a tool, asks you a question with choices, or wants a plan approved, you can answer right on the ELOP Crew dashboard, without switching to VS Code.

How it works

  • Requests appear as cards at the top of the page, with the asking agent's robot and name, its project and the tool. Click the agent's name to go to its project's tab.
  • If that agent's dialog is open, the card moves into it. The options you picked and anything you typed stay as you left them while the card moves around.
  • A request from a VS Code (or terminal) session counts down: 60s left, then it goes back to VS Code. Unanswered by then, the usual VS Code prompt appears.
  • A request from an agent ELOP Crew started waits for you with no time limit, since there is no VS Code to fall back to. Its card has no Answer in VS Code button.
  • When ELOP Crew is not running, or no dashboard page is open, requests go straight to the usual VS Code prompt.

Requests from VS Code sessions need the Claude Code hooks. Installing the hooks

Tool permission requests

A NEEDS APPROVAL card shows what the agent wants to do (the command, the file path and so on), so you can judge it. The buttons:

AllowAllows it this once.
Always allow: …The same "don't ask again" choices VS Code offers. Claude Code picks the scope for each request, and there may be more than one. Afterwards the card says ✓ Allowed — won’t ask again. Claude Code saves the choice as an allow rule in its own settings (usually the project's .claude/settings.local.json). To be asked again, remove the rule with /permissions in Claude Code.
DenyRefuses this request.
Deny and stopRefuses it and stops what the agent is doing.
Answer in VS CodeHands the request back to the normal VS Code prompt. Only on VS Code sessions.

Once you answer, the card shows the result for a moment and goes away. If it was already answered in VS Code or ran out of time, it says Already answered or timed out.

Questions with choices

When an agent asks you something with options, a QUESTION card appears. One card can hold several questions.

  1. Click an option for each question. Questions marked (pick any) take more than one.
  2. If no option fits, type in Other — type your own answer. You can combine it with options too.
  3. Click Send answers. If a question is still unanswered, the card says Answer every question first.

Plan approvals

When an agent in plan mode finishes its plan, a PLAN card shows it in full.

  • Approve plan: the agent starts working on it.
  • Keep planning: it does not start, and keeps refining the plan. Tell it what to change with a message in its dialog.

Keyboard keys

The buttons of the first request carry numbers, and the keys it takes are listed under the card.

1…9Press the button or option with that number.
Alt + numberThe same while you are typing a message.
↑ / ↓Move between the questions of one request. Picking an option in a single-choice question moves on to the next one.
EnterSend the answers to a question.

In the desktop app, Ctrl + Alt + J brings the window up from anywhere, ready for the number keys, so you can approve a request without reaching for the mouse.

Prompts only VS Code can answer

Some prompts VS Code shows cannot be answered from the dashboard. The agent's card is tagged IN VS CODE and the bubble shows 🖥. Answer them in VS Code.

You are told when a request comes

The desktop app puts an orange dot on the taskbar button and tray icon and sends a desktop notification; in a browser the tab title shows a count. Alerts

Answering from elsewhere

  • The assistant can approve routine requests that can be undone, within limits you set. The assistant
  • The phone app answers the same requests and questions. The phone app
